PROBLEM
The focus of this Summit was the value and importance of teamwork, so it was easy to fall onto bland corporate imagery. There was a need for the theme to be fun so as to bring excitement to the event while remaining true to Google standards and the content of the Summit.
SOLUTION
Constellations and intergalactic imagery brings to life this idea of connectedness and how much more rich our universe is when we come together and look to the night sky as constellations of stars, rather than just as individual pinpricks of light.
My role: Illustrator
My role in the project was to illustrate the spot images that would be used throughout the event's presentations and 5 larger and more detailed hero images. The Google Cloud team was then responsible for placing the illustrations on their designated spaces as well as designing the materials for the event.

Although the primary use of these illustrations is to live on the various Summit presentations, they are also created with the intent to be reused elsewhere. Because of this, there is a balance between keeping imagery high level while still supporting the slide's message.

GOOGLE CLOUD LEARNING SUMMIT ILLUSTRATIONS
Google Cloud Learning Services hosts an annual in-person and virtual Learning and Development Summit. Each year, the Summit features themed imagery in materials like swag, posters, and presentations. The 2022 theme was 'Constellations: A Celebration of Our Global Connections in Learning.' The visual approach adopts a midcentury retro futuristic style with dark gray backgrounds, contrasting Google's usual 'build from white' guidelines. While different, the style maintains foundational elements of the brand, creating a fun and Google-y moment in time.
